Project summary: This platform is a talent marketplace that connects skilled freelancers and professionals with clients who need them. It covers the whole engagement: guided onboarding, rich profiles, admin vetting, search, token-based contact, secure messaging and detailed reviews. Mahadhi Technologies built it as a Next.js web application for a marketplace startup.
The challenge
A marketplace only works when both sides trust it. Clients need to find vetted talent quickly and filter by what matters; professionals need protection from spam and low-quality enquiries; and administrators need tools to keep profiles and reviews honest as the platform grows.
What we built
- Guided onboarding for professionals: skills, primary role and a unique profile URL, so every profile meets a baseline standard.
- Rich profiles: tagline and biography, preferred job types, availability, work authorisation, compensation range and currency, location with a service radius, portfolios, certificates and resumes.
- Performance metrics such as profile views, contacts, average rating and completed projects.
- Client search and filters by industry, skills, languages, experience, qualifications, location radius and budget.
- Token-based contact: clients use tokens to start conversations, which adds intent and cuts spam.
- Messaging with read receipts, unread counts, labels and priorities, plus archive, mute and block options.
- Detailed reviews rating communication, quality, timeliness and professionalism, with a would-hire-again flag, helpful votes and public replies.
- Admin moderation: a profile verification queue (approve, reject or request changes, with notes), review moderation, bans and dispute resolution.
